Although, due to Covid restrictions, we were disappointed not to get to attend in person again this year, we were nonetheless thrilled to come away with a decent clutch of awards at The World Championship Scotch Pie Awards.
Our top award came in the cold savoury category this year and this was particularly pleasing as it’s the 3rd year in succession that Dales Butchers have scooped the top spot in this category. Our two previous successes were with Pork & Mr Vikkis Chilli Jam and Pork & Black Pudding pies, but this year it was the turn of a relative newcomer to our range that the judges found most pleasing to their taste buds, our Pork & Chorizo pie. You’ll see this our and our other award winners listed below.
A first awards outing for this recent addition to the Dales Butchers pie range.
Not just the top spot, Dales Butchers also landed the second place Gold award with our previous year’s winner – Pork & Black Pudding. This pie also came away as Class Winner at the British Pie Awards in 2020.
Always a top choice at Dales Butchers, our steak pie was recognised with a Gold Award. Although this award was presented for our individual steak pie, the same recipe is also available in 6″ family pie and 10″ extra-large pie options.
We were very pleased to receive a Gold Award for our pork sausage roll at this year’s awards too. A big favourite with the many visitors we get to Kirkby Lonsdale, as well with our regular customers, it’s generously filled and seriously meaty!
Although it’s only a silver award, to come away with any award in this category is a great result. The macaroni pie is very much a Scottish speciality, so we’re thrilled to have been ranked in the top 3!
