2022
The World Championship Scotch Pie Awards
We enjoyed another successful year at The World Championship Scotch Pie Awards with 2022 being the third year in succession where Dales Butchers came away with top honours in the cold savoury category. This year it was our recently introduce Pork & Chorizo pie that excited the judges taste buds. The two previous years successes went to our Pork & Mr Vikkis Chilli Jam and Pork & Black Pudding pies.

Not just the top spot, Dales Butchers also landed the second place Gold award with our previous year’s winner – Pork & Black Pudding. This pie also came away as Class Winner at the British Pie Awards in 2020.
Gold Award – Steak Pie

Always a top choice at Dales Butchers, our steak pie was recognised with a Gold Award. Although this award was presented for our individual steak pie, the same recipe is also available in 6″ family pie and 10″ extra-large pie options.

We were very pleased to receive a Gold Award for our pork sausage roll at this year’s awards too. A big favourite with the many visitors we get to Kirkby Lonsdale, as well with our regular customers, it’s generously filled and seriously meaty!
Silver Award – Macaroni Pie
Macaroni Pie
Although it’s only a silver award, to come away with any award in this category is a great result. The macaroni pie is very much a Scottish speciality, so we’re thrilled to have been ranked in the top 3!
2021
A big year for Dales Traditional Butchers, when we proudly received the award of Britain’s Best Butchers Shop at the Meat Management Industry Awards. We also landed a nice, highly commended award for our steak and kidney pie at the British Pie Awards.

2020
A massive award winning year for Dales Butchers!
Great recognition for our much loved pies at Dales Traditional Butchers, at the British Pie Awards & World Scotch Pie Championship!
Another nice feather in our cap at the British Pie awards was our Pork & Black Pudding pie being awarded the most points of any pie out of all the competition’s entries.
A huge award – Butcher of the Year – was awarded to us by the Manchester & North-West Prestige Awards!
Although not winning any of the major awards, we did make it to the finalist stages for five category-leading Diamond awards at the Q Guild Smithfield Awards.
